How many changes to the base system of VB itself does the installation of VBA CMPS 1.0 versus 2.0 make?

Are you talking file changes only, or do you want to know how many phrases it adds, how many templates it adds, etc?

3 modifications to 1 file (global.php).
4 new tables.
Quite a few phrases and templates.
Indexes added to your user, thread, and post tables.

The same changes to global.php, plus a few other files.
Same tables.
Same phrases & templates.
No indexes to vB tables.

Though there's really no reason you should install 1.x over 2.0.
