Are installation insctructions accurate?

Step 1 recommends changing the "Image Paths", it says:

Go to your Style Manager under "Styles & Templates" in your Admin CP. Choose to modify All Style Options. On this page, you will see a section for "Image Paths". Here you must change the path for each image directory (Title Image, Button Images Folder, Miscellaneous Images Folder, etc) to the full path (ex - /forum/images or http://yoursite.com/forum/images).


I don't think this is neccessary since the installation script requires everyone to update the images directory.

Now I have a problem; unfortunately, I made a mistake updating image paths correctly when asked by the installation script, how do I go back and update these settings?

Yes you will still need to update your image paths in the style manager, the only thing this does is update your smilies & post icons, however if vBa will be in the same directory as your forums there is no need to update anything

Some images doesn't appear correctly on the vba page, the broken link shows the path as:

http://domain.com/images/icons/icon1.gif

instead of:

http://domain.com/vb3/images/icons/icon1.gif

While some of the good images are:

http://domain.com/vb3/style53/buttons/reply_small.gif

What should I do?

Go though the admincp / vBulletin Options and update any image paths

and update each styles Image paths

I looked in admin / vBulletin Options but there are no image path fields there. As for the styles they are already updated.

Hello again,

I was able to run the installation script with this argument:

admincp/vbacmps_install.php?do=doimages

I corrected all the URLs but the last one, it seems it won't update. The last one is:

[deficon] which has a value of [images/icons/icon1.gif] that I need to change to be full URL of my forum.

Notice the same image was wrong in the main page.

That's in your main vBulletin options, listed as "Show Default Post Icon" under your "Thread Display Options" section. If it already has the correct URL you may just need to save the options to update the cache.
