Has anyone got side modules to work on showthread.php, newreply.php and prolly others too ?
Following the instructions HERE (http://www.vbadvanced.com/membersarea.php?do=viewusermanual&productid=4&pageid=6) i got /forum/index.php and forumdisplay.php working just fine, and both validates for xhtml.
But showthread and newreply messes up, not xhtml valid when doing the above, they take up all room on my fixed width layout, pushing the side modules out of bounds.
Anyone got it working ? :(

Sounds more like an issue with your style.

Well, im not using any style other than the default vB style, it's a completely fresh install of vBa2rc2(3.5) and vB3.5rc2.
Here's some screenies to illustrate...

The 3 first works fine, vba frontpage, forumhome, forumdisplay, and all 3 W3C validates.
But the fourth, showthread, takes up the whole width pushing the modules further to the side making the whole site be wider. :(
/edit
I also tried with only left column, same thing.

Mindbuster, I took at look at the links you gave... I'll have to experiment at home, haven't had a chance at work yet today.

Thanks :)
If just someone could tell me they got it working with showthread.php, newreply.php and the like and not just index.php, forumdisplay.php, with the latest downloads of vBa2rc2(3.5) and vB3.5rc2 then i'll be very thankfull, then i could try uninstalling everything including vB and start all over. :p

Ok, uninstalled everything.
Reinstalled vB 3.5 RC2
Reinstalled vBa CMPS 2.0 RC2 (3.5)
Followed the instruction HERE (http://www.vbadvanced.com/membersarea.php?do=viewusermanual&productid=4&pageid=6)
Again, it worked with...
/forum/index.php
/forum/forumdisplay.php
It DID NOT work with /forum/showthread.php
Showthread still takes up too much room compared to index.php and forumdisplay.php.
I just got another vB owned license including branding free option, i also purchased the branding free option for vBa CMPS, and i would really really like the cmps integrated completely with vB due to the layout i would like for my new site.
Please help me get this fixed :(

Do you have your forums set to a fixed width? If so, that's probably what's causing the problem as your postbit template is going to be set to that width.

There is some misalignment at both fixed width (960px) and floating (100%) using only left column modules.
Though i just tried floating width (100%) with both left and right modules, that worked.
Atleast i can get working now. :o
Though i would prefer a fixed width, do you have any tips on making postbit a fixed width, a width that i tell it ?

Hmm, just noticed that the spacing between the side modules and "/forum/showthread.php" is too wide compared to "/forum/index.php" and "/forum/forumdisplay.php".
Here's how it looks in IE, and in FireFox it's all messed up...
http://www.entropiaforum.com/images/ff-ie-showthread1.gif
And ofcourse the page isnt W3C valid as index.php and forumdisplay are.
:(
Did jelsoft mess up somewhere ? or is it some other kind of incompatibility ?
Now im stuck again, atleast if i want FireFox visitors. :(

I'm getting exactly the same problem... Except it doesn't work on Forum Home for me as well. Using vB 3.5 RC3 & CMPS 2.0 GOLD.

same problem. new scripts. fresh install.
the instructions below DO NOT WORK with MOST pages. (showsthread.php, calendar.php, memberlist.php, etc)
http://www.vbadvanced.com/membersarea.php?do=viewusermanual&productid=4&pageid=6
There are too many HTML problems.

Yeah it would be nice to get this sorted, the modules on vB pages is something I've needed/wanted for some time...

I'm having the same problem with showthread. Did you ever get this sorted out? I tried to edit showthread, but couldn't figure out where the mistake was...

Try editing your postbit template and remove the $spacer_open and $spacer_close variables.

I got the same problem in showthread. This alignment error won't disappear in 3.6.2 with vBadvanced CMPS v2.2.0.
Any help there?

In 3.6.2 you need to remove all instances of $spacer_open and $spacer_close variables in "showthread" template, then the same in "postbit_wrapper" template and then the same in "newreply" template
