Left Template adding gif/jpg

Hi all,

I was woundering on how to add a gif file to my left template and so people can click it and it goes to a place on my website.. its more or less a advert kinda way.. I've tried some things but all it does is links the url instead of showing the gif/jpg file it self.

If any body knows what im talking about could u give me a little tut or how to do it, Thanks for any replys!

hmm how do i make the gif so its clickable? by that i mean when someone clicks it it goes to a url i put in there?

If you're doing it with bb code, just add a [url] tag around the [img] tag.
