vBadvanced CMPS v2.0.0 ("Gold") has just been released and is available for download in through the 'Programs / Scripts' link here. This new version is mostly a maintenance release to fix all currently known bugs from the RC versions, but there are a few new options and features which are outlined below.
News Module
New 'Thread Display Order' option which will allow you to sort your news posts by the date added, thread title, rating, number of replies, or views.
New 'Thread Display Direction' option which will allows you to sort your news posts in either ascending or descending order.
News Archive Module
New option to enable/disable the display of the last post info.
New option to enable/disable the display of the forum which the news post was made in.
Recent Threads Module
New option which will allow you to specify the maximum number of characters a single word in a thread may contain. If a word in the thread contains more than the number of characters specified then the thread title will be trimmed to this number. This helps to prevent threads with extremely long words from stretching out the page, while still allowing you to set a reasonable number for the 'Maximum Characters of Thread Title to Display' option.
New 'Thread Display Order' option which will allow you to sort your recent threads by the date added, thread title, rating, number of replies, or views.
New 'Thread Display Direction' option which will allows you to sort your recent threads in either ascending or descending order.
Site Navigation Module
The 'Level 1 Mark' and 'Level 2+ Mark' settings will now parse PHP code, allowing you to enter variables and such for these options.
Lastly, all currently known bugs have been fixed. Thanks to all of those who have installed the RC versions and helped us to squash bugs and create a better product, and I hope everyone enjoys the new version.
Edit by Zak: There is a change as of vBulletin 3.5 RC3 that will prevent the Nav Menus from appearing. Please see this thread (http://www.vbadvanced.com/forum/showthread.php?t=10754) for a fix for the time being.

Just re-apply the changes to the file in the include directory that the gallery module requires.

In your /forum/global.php file: (3 Changes)
What about the plugin system?
This modification will add a new group to your Style Manager for your new vBadvanced CMPS templates. Otherwise they will be displayed with your custom templates.
In your /forum/includes/adminfunctions_template.php file:
Why? You can add a plugin for this in 'template_groups':
$only['adv_portal'] = 'vBadvanced CMPS';

Brian already said there's no way to use the Plugin system for the changes CMPS requires in global.php. That could change in future versions of vBulletin I guess.

I repeat myself, but it would be great if languageid could be configured to "-1" and not "0" in the install file.

I've tried to poke Brian into using that I'd expect to see an update. its one less edit to that file.

It works for me, more or less, too. But when I try to open some other areas (e.g. ?page=software), I just get the following message:
Ungueltige SQL-Abfrage:
SELECT threadid, firstpostid FROM vb3_thread AS thread
LEFT JOIN vb3_deletionlog AS deletionlog ON
(thread.threadid = deletionlog.primaryid AND type = 'thread')
WHERE visible = 1 AND open != 10 AND thread.forumid IN(56)
AND deletionlog.primaryid IS NULL
ORDER BY sticky DESC,
LIMIT 10
mysql error: You have an error in your SQL syntax. Check the manual that corresponds to your
MySQL server version for the right syntax to use near 'LIMIT 10' at line 5
WTF? :eek:
Boris

The problem seems to be somewhere at the line ORDER BY sticky DESC - it includes a "," - which is not correct. I tried to remove it directly in the module news.php - this works, but not for the main page (index). In that case, the "," is missing in the Query ... *sigh*

Hi Brian,
How can you go "gold" if vB 3.5 is not "gold" ?
Am confused - I thought it had to be in parallel.
Thanks for all the great work you and Zach do.

Boris, this is not a help topic. There are forums made to help you out. This is just to discuss general non-technical things regarding the release. (like "good job, I plan on installing this" and the similar)

Two questions:
One - Can this exist along side with The Aira Templates from VBSTYLES? I mean, is there a conflict with the templates?
Two - Is there a branding free version I can purchase?
Brian
10-03-2005, 12:42 PM
1). It usually works fairly well with skins from vbstyles.
2). Yes, we offer a branding free version for $39.99. You will see the option to purchase this when you follow the links to download the product.

hey brian, will vbadvanced always need file modifications to install, even with vb 3.5?
Brian
10-04-2005, 08:56 PM
Depends... I haven't had a chance to see if it can be done without them in 3.5.0.
Diver

that would be great, if those file changes would be integrated into the new plugin system :)

Problem:
In your install directions, you say to find the below in order to add code which will add the CMPS admin buttons in the forum's admin panel:
$printhr = false;
if (can_administer('canadmincalendars'))
The problem is that that string isn't found in the newest VBulletin.
