Avatars showing up as text?

I can see the Avatars perfectly well on the index page, but once you go into a thread it says "Shelly's avatar" as a link where the avatar should be. If you click on the link, you can see the profile and my avatar.
I can't figure this out.

I should also mention that I've tried the fixes found in this forum and none of them have worked for me. I'd just like to know if it is a problem with vbindex being still installed? If so, I will go through the steps to remove it.
