Make Forum into a Module

Is there an easy way to make a module that links to the Forum Home? I'm thinking this could be an easy shortcut, then i could insert ads into different modules and surround the forum module with ads, etc.

i've tried several ways, but couldn't nail it. any help would be greatly appreciated.
