How do i post news in other threads, still listing on cmps ?

I was wondering, instead of posting a news in the news thread to be able to come up on the front page cmps..

Is there any way that you can post a thread anywhere, in any forum, and for certain usergroups such as admin lets say, a tick button becomes visible near the 'manage attachments box' area saying, News, and when you tick it, it registers it as news and posts it up at the front of cmps???

Very handy if this is possible?

Not quite, but in 2.0 there is an option in the admin cp that will allow you to select specific threads to be displayed.
