I have installed vBadvanced, and I fixed the error I had received, but I see no changes at all to my forums. When I go there, it is the same, no changes were made. Any ideas? What do I need to do to get the new look?

Umm the portal doesn't change your forums.

Sorry for the newb question, but then what does it do? I thought when you installed the portal, it made your forum look like the vbadvanced forum with the 3 colums, the calendar, ect.
Did I miss something?

I even tried ADD PAGE, and even that changed nothing.

The cmps_index.php page is your portal. It does not change anything on your forums pages.

Brian, I think I am missing something. What is the portal for, if not to change your web site look? Again, please, forgive my ignorance.

Most people will place the cmps_index.php file in their root directory, below the forums, and then rename it to index.php once they're done setting it up. That allows the script to act as their homepage, in the way that it does here.
If you want the CMPS to replace your current forum's index.php file, please see this thread:

Ok, I think I get it. I do believe I made a mistake during install, perhaps you folks can clarify...
When I a was told to do the following:
root/forums/modules - Upload this folder and all of it's contents
Was I supposed to upload the /modules INTO the forums/modules, so that it would be:
root/forums/modules/modules
or OVER the root/forums/modules, so that the vbadvanced /modules directory would be COPIED OVER my forums root/forums/modules, leaving it as root/forums/modules?
I copied OVER. If This was a mistake, how can I repair, since when I uploaded the vbadvanced /modules directory, it changed some of the files.
Folks, I am so sorry for asking these dumb questions, but I am really very new to this, and I am trying real hard to get this.

You shouldn't have had a 'modules' folder with vBulletin when you started installing this... Uploading the entire folder and it's contents to your forums directory, so that all of the files in that folder would be in /forum/modules would be correct.

Ok. Thank you Brian. I am still getting an error, but at least now that I understand the concept, I should be able to figure it out. Essentially, what the portal does is serve as a "index" page to your forums... acting like, well, a portal.. DUH. lol
I will try and fix the error myself, and post again if I need help.
