I have a web page filled with original, daily-updated content, and I want a good CMS. I'm having trouble deciding between two heavy hitters.
vB Drupal
http://www.vbulletin.org/forum/showthread.php?t=97341
or
vBadvanced
http://www.vbadvanced.com
Which would be easier to style?
Which would be easier to expand with multiple news pages?
Which would cause less server load?
Which works better with RSS?
There are many other comparisons I'm sure I'm forgetting.
To tell you the truth I personally haven't used durpal nor that hack posted at vb.org that combines it with vbulletin. What I can tell you with my experience is that you probably want to choose or go with vbadvanced. However, vbadvanced is not actually a CMS (Content management system) that you would see everywhere else, by that I mean that you can not publish articles individually, or create different categories or subcategories for your content. It is possible however with other hacks/addons posted here or at vb.org, I use Cinq's Vbarticles.
Why I tell you then to go with vbadvanced? because vbadvanced has a whole support forum with an active community and developers. This means that there will be constant updates if needed. But for the drupal, it is an addon/hack that is posted at vb.org, and there is no guarantee that it will be supported all the way by the community or the author.
As for which one is easier to style, I have to say vbadvanced. It is completely integrated with vbulletin, so you pretty much don't even have to reskin the portal to make it look like the forums, but if you want to make your homepage look even better than the forums, that is still possible.
As for your second question, it should be easy to do with vbadvanced, Brian probably will have a better answer.
As for server load, from reading the Drupal's hack description, it looks like that it will have some loading problems if the site is too big, but I don't think this will be an issue with vbadvanced.
As for the RSS, so far vbadvanced's RSS does what it should do, I don't really know what you want/mean by better?
The last thing is that vbadvanced is completely integrated with you vbulletin, and the advantage of it is that if there is any addon or hack released for vbulletin, you could most likely convert it to an vbadvanced module as well. There is so many more reasons, you just have to come up with a list of what is the most important to you, and compare the two.
But if youre main focus is publishing content/articles regularly, and if you don't want to use any extra addons/hacks such as vbarticles, then I wouldn't put vbadvanced for my top choice at this point.
Hope this helps.

vb Durpal to that effect is an CMS that is outside of the vBulletin community. So you have to use Durpal and then install that hack.
From experince with photopost, I'll stick to things made for vb inside the community by community coders. Not people wishing to build a stand alone product.

The front-page of vBa doesn't have RSS imbedded in the page, so options like firefox's LiveBookmark won't work.

Good point. But like you said, vBa has near complete vbulletin support, while Drupal only has a little hack on vb.org.
I'll stick with vBa for now, unless I get too much content to handle.

I used to use vbPortal, but vBadvance has become my pick. It's very flexible and the support has been pretty good.

I visited the vBportal site and the reaction of the staff to anything about another CMPS was, everything else is garbage and we can't give you a reason why, but we say so, LOCKED THREAD.

MMMMMmmmm. I guess it's each to there own, but I tried vBPortal ages ago and I for one didn't like it. I didn't like the way the admin panel is separate from the forum and not intergrated as well as this version. There were also a few other things about it I didn't like as well.

And that is a very good point which should be kept in mind. I've found out from experience while many hacks are released over at vB.org and thats great. It has to be said that support after the hacks are released on a lot of them is just not there.
