Usergroups permissions

The usergroups permissions don’t work for me.
I have created a new usergroup for Premium members; any member of this usergroup will not see any ads in forums.
Next I have added a new module called "Sponsored Links" with the google ads code; I have set to show to all usergroups except the Premium usergroup, but it's doesn't matter, because the vbadvanced show the module whatever the usergroup I select for not show.

Is there a way to add a conditional directly in the php files?

Is the premium usergroup these users main usergroup, or an additional usergroup?
