Sorry if this isnt the correcr forum but I'm not sure where to put it.

I purchased a 3rd party style only to find out that it uses so much javascript and html that it renders really slowly in all but the very fastest PCs. I'm wondering if I can salvage the style by stripping out a lot of the garbage, or if I should just start over.
Is there anyone here who thinks they could alter this style so that it loads as fast as the VB3 default style?

The problem isnt in the load time - its in the time it takes a browser to do the markup. The older and slower the computer, the worse the problem is.

The load time does seem a little slower than it should, and I'm on a 2.4 P4 w/ 1gb of ram. From viewing your source on your forum's index though, the only javascript I'm seeing is from vBulletin, and phpAdsNew. There's other methods of adding the banners through phpAdsNew, so you may want to have a look at that first.

Take a look at the forums index page. Note the little + - graphics that expand and collapse the page. Isnt that JS?
Its not phpadsnew - this all worked fine in VB2 with a different style. Also, I put the banners on the VB3 default version and its noticeably quicker.

The +/- graphics are a default vB feature. They are JS, but shouldn't cause enough of a slow down to matter.
The two links you posted are giving me the exact same style... It would be helpful to see what the page loads like with the default style though.

Only if a style is enabled for public view can we see it.

It may be your vb settings that are lowing things down, or even your server. Because I really don't see anything all that different from vb3. Colors and graphics, that's mainly it.
