everything went smooth except for on my link page I must have done something wrong. Can you take a peek and see if you know right off hand whats wrong
http://gamingevolved.com/main/index.php?page=link
There isn't a table around the code, and I noticed on your demo there is.
Thanks for sharing BTW, I could have never done this on my own.

no problem man, I thought maybe I did something to it while I was customizing it to my site. Let me know when you've updated and will it be obvious to me what I'll need to add to my exisiting code to frame the code?

worked great man, thanks for the code :D you need to add a <br /> at the end of your code.. Notice there is no space between the two modules??
poseidon
06-10-2004, 02:20 PM
not sure what you mean man, where is there no space?
mholtum
06-10-2004, 02:28 PM
Between the Navigation Module and the link to us module..
poseidon
06-10-2004, 02:38 PM
I'm seeing a break there when I view it. The only break I don't have (that I know of) is between the navigation and search and thats because I wanted them butted up against each other. :confused:

I was having that problem to and I figured out that I had to remove the "/" at the end of the URL to get to the page. Don't know if that will help or not. It took some work but I got mine running pretty good. Also, did you make sure your Custom Page Content is checked?

Ok, I figured I botched it up so I
1: Deleted the "Link Us" Page.
2: Deleted the Module.
3: Erased both the adv_portal_links_us & the adv_portal_links template.
4: Re-Edited the two templates code in note pad & "cut & pasted" all the code, named the templates & saved.
5: Created another Custom Page with the Following information:
5a:Page Title: Link Us
5b:Page Identifier: link
5c:Page Template: adv_portal_link_us
5d:Default Style
5e:Modules Enabled: "Center Column" checked Custom Page Content
5f:Unchecked News and News Archive
5g:Everything else is set to "Use Default"
IT STILL WON'T WORK! ARGH!

Not too sure where u are going wrong ..... here we go ......
First the scrolling block
Create a new template titled adv_portal_link_us and put the following code into it:<!-- Scrolling/Fading Links -->
<table align="center" border="0" cellpadding="$stylevar[cellpadding]" cellspacing="$stylevar[cellspacing]" class="tborder" width="100%">
<tr>
<td class="tcat"><span class="smallfont"><strong>$vba_options[portal_blockbullet] Affiliates</strong></span>
</td>
</tr>
<tr>
<td class="$getbgrow" width="100%">
<SCRIPT src="/fading.js"></SCRIPT>
<MARQUEE behavior= "scroll" align= "center" direction= "up" height="120" scrollamount= "2" scrolldelay= "15" onMouseOver="this.stop()" onMouseOut="this.start()">
<center>
<!-- Begin Links -->
<a href="http://www.ravensrealm.net/" target="_blank"></a></center></marquee>
<img onmouseover=high(this) style="FILTER: alpha(opacity=30); moz-opacity: 0.3" onmouseout=low(this) border=0 src="http://www.ravensrealm.net/forum/images/misc/linktous/button.gif" alt="Raven's Realm" width=88 height=31><BR><BR>
<a href="http://www.ravensrealm.net/" target="_blank"><img onmouseover=high(this) style="FILTER: alpha(opacity=30); moz-opacity: 0.3" onmouseout=low(this) border=0 src="http://www.ravensrealm.net/forum/images/misc/linktous/button2.gif" alt="Raven's Realm" width=88 height=31></a><BR><BR>
<a href="http://www.ravensrealm.net/" target="_blank"><img onmouseover=high(this) style="FILTER: alpha(opacity=30); moz-opacity: 0.3" onmouseout=low(this) border=0 src="http://www.ravensrealm.net/forum/images/misc/linktous/button03.gif" alt="Raven's Realm" width=88 height=31></a><BR><BR>

<p><a href="http://www.ravensrealm.net/index.php?id=link/">Become

Active: Yes
Don't forget to adjust the display order and column

That would be because that is exactly what your instructions say to do.
You may want to update the txt file in the attachment.

Small question.. If you already have the Link Us hack why do you need another custom page?
