can I change the file name of cmps_index.php to portal.php?

I want my cmps to use my custom skin, which means I don't need to do this one, right?

1) Yes, you can rename it to be just about anything you want... just make sure you don't try to name it the same name as an existing file.

2) That option only comes into play when you view the templates in the Admin Control Panel.... it won't affect your styles.
