Two really dumb questions

Ok here is my site: www.wiredmike.com
Basically I need to make my site look like the front page of this site. Would like to have borders around all my modules. Just wondering where this is done in the control panel?
Also is is possible to get rid of that links bar up top on the front page, but not in the forums?

Ok I got it sorta looking better.
Now does anyone know how to adjust the horizontal spacing between modules?
I tried setting it to 5 but there is still to much space between my modules.
Ok Ill make a seperate thread for this one.
