just did an update to vb3.01 on a forum i am getting ready to swap to in a fresh forum
using exisiting database copy whilei get it ready

as i was already using vba gold obviously it would not let me upgrade or install vba again

BUT

there was the other very nice link to re install the templates :D
worked like a charm

amen... I had to do that myself right after 1.00 was released and saved my !@#@ too :)

That's what that option is there for (well, the main reason anyways). For some reason vBulletin will always delete any default templates that are not from vBulletin during an upgrade, so that option's there to allow you to quickly reinstall them. ;)

Its not for "some" reason, every time you upgrade, you delete the old master style, and import a new one ;)

I knew that much. :p I meant more along the lines of they use that method to install the new templates, for some reason. I guess that is the easiest way and since they don't support hacked boards there's no reason for them not to do it that way, but it still makes it a little harder for developers.

Well at least were not the arcade hack, IMO john has done his template installer horridly.


It installs to the default template set, and it sets all templates to customized. >.>

So it installs to the default template set, and then installs another set so that there will be a customized ones as well? I actually thought about doing it that way, but (at least for now) have decided against that.
