Here is my website: http://www.indianaauditions.comIf events from all calendars show up on the Forum Home page then it should be possible to do the same with the events for the module. I took a look at your site and no events were shown in the forum so I can't answer it definitively.

Hey Its a great module and ive been dying for it, but i cant get it to show upcomming events :s

Im using vb 3.6 cmps 2.2 link www2.u18rockers.comI see you also have an "Upcoming Events" module loaded. If that works and the combo calendar doesn't then it's a configuration problem. You may want to double check that the module is marked as "active" and is allowed to be shown. Also make sure that the number of days to display covers the date range for the event.

BTW - I looked at the Forum Home page and no events were shown there so this means that it's very likely that no events would show in the combo calendar.

Okay I struggled at this and I want to share what I was doing wrong for overs that might need it.

I was changeing the home page in the edit pages section of the cmps control panel. it was set at 30 days along with the module itself was set at 30 days.

I didn't not know that there was another place that i wasn't looking. Its under the vBulletin options control panel and there is a edit forums home page option. at that point the events were set to 1 day only. I change that it all works fine

thought I would share just in case there was someone out there that had a brain malfunction like me.

Do the birthdays show if you use the standalone version supplied as part of vBa?

FYI I fixed the missing titles for admin created holiday by editing the following in the combocalendar.php (this is for VB 3.6 users). Tom M, you were right about some code change in 3.6. Hope this helps anyone else out there.

Find (should be 2 instances of this):

$vbphrase['holiday_title_' . $eventinfo['varname']]

replace with:

$vbphrase['holiday' . $eventinfo['holidayid'] . '_title']
Congrats Tobad! It finally worked!:)
Excellent script Tom!

The limit on the number of events to display feature has been added to the Standalone version of the module. You should be able to modify the code in a similar manner and just hard code the number of days that you want displayed.

Does anybody know how to remove the calendar so this module only shows Upcoming Events? If you only want to show Upcoming Events then you should use just the Upcoming Events module :D

It's basically the same code (actually has more flexibility) but doesn't have the calendar or birthdays.

Does anyone know if it's possible to alter the code so that events from let's say Calendar one display in the color "Red" and events from Calendar two display in the color "Blue"? I would think you could add an IF statement maybe in the events template. Any suggetions?

This was requested by some regular users on my site. I started poking around, and thought I'd get some input first before I start playing around.

Thanks!

Thanks!Just to clarify... are you talking about wanting the text to appear red/blue? If so it will take a template change as well as a code change in the php file as the calendar information isn't saved along with the event when building the display information. It wouldn't be hard to do if you know php but the other choice is to have multiple calendars show instead of having all the info show on a single calendar. The latter can be accomplished by using the "Upcoming Events" version of the module which only shows the events and not the entire calendar.

ThanksYes and no.

The Combo Calendar can only display events from a single calendar.

There is an Upcoming Events module (one for 3.5 and one for 3.6) that supports the display of a single calendar or all calendars. It's not possible to choose, say, 3 out of 5 defined calendars.

All versions only show events that users have permissions to access.

If I read right, vBa CMPS 3.0 has it's own version of the module...

Hmmm... Do you read this?
Mini Calendar

* Option to include birthdays with events.
* Option to cache events and other calendar data, preventing 4-5 queries this module can use to gather event data.

I think, the CMPS 3.0-calendar has not the functions which got this combo-module!?!?

Hmmm... Do you read this?

I think, the CMPS 3.0-calendar has not the functions which got this combo-module!?!?When I glanced at the new features it seemed like it would include both birthdays and events. Perhaps not. Since I haven't installed it yet I can't really test things out.

I know other people have the standalone events module I did working with 3.0 so I would think that this module should work as well but until I decide to move forward with 3.0 I can't be of too much help on this. Sorry.

About all I can suggest is if it was working for you and the only thing different is the upgrade then check to see if any of the new options that CMPS 3.0 has are correct for the module. In the past if nothing showed up it was either an issue with missing templates or the module wasn't marked active or set to display on the page or, finally, the permissions are not right.

If you would like me to look at it on your site feel free to PM me the login info for the ACP and I'll see if I spot anything.

I'm having no luck getting this to work with vBa 3 and vb 3.6.7 PL1. In fact, it's conflicting with the standard mini calendar module somehow. Am I supposed to uninstall the mini calendar module? If you have this one installed then the standard mini calendar is normally no longer needed.

What sort of problems are you encountering?

Also, a link would be helpful.

vgevolution
06-13-2007, 02:58 PM
A link won't help much since nothing displays. :(

Let me explain what I had going on. The standard mini-calendar wouldn't display any links on days that had events, so I went looking for a replacement module. I found this one. When I installed it, suddenly, the links appeared on the mini-calendar, but the combo calendar with events didn't appear. When I moved the combo calendar off the vba page, the mini calendar reverted to no links. If I remove the mini calendar from the page, but keep the combo calendar, no calendar appears. No errors are ever logged.

Since I couldn't get that to work correctly, I tried the Upcoming Events stand alone module. Same result! The combination of the mini calendar and the upcoming events module made event links appear on the mini calendar, but no upcoming events module ever showed up.

In fact, I have to place the "hidden" module above the Mini Calendar before the event links will appear on the Mini Calendar. It's like the Mini Calendar isn't picking the "daylinks" option unless called by the hidden modules first. I can't fathom why the Combo Calendar and Events Module are not appearing at all. I've triple-checking all permissions and active settings.

I also have to modify the adv_portal_calendar_day and manually add /forums/ to the calendar.php link inside. Something is causing the script to quit without sending output...

Am I alone in this issue? Even finding that out will be helpful.

Tom M

A link won't help much since nothing displays. :(Actually, the link is helpful as it allows me to see if you are running a custom style!

Since your problem with the default mini calendar was happening prior to the install of either the combo calendar or the standalone events module it seems like you need to get the default install working first.

Have you tried installing vBa again from a fresh download?

vgevolution
06-21-2007, 03:20 PM
Sorry it took so long to respond, I was away. Custom style? Only that I changed the default colors and some button image files. Regardless, the vBulletin Default Style has the same issues displaying the modules. I was wondering if there are any global variables I need to declare, or any other special settings to get this to work with CMPS 3.0 and vb 3.6.7.

You said:

I does work with vb 3.6.x as I have it running on one of my sites. It also works with vBa 3.0 so long as the vBa options are set correctly.

but you didn't say what those settings were. I want to make sure I have the right settings, and if it still isn't working, I can try other debugging measures.

Thanks for your help!

Fixed my display issues. First, I had to disable clean output, which made it display. Strangely, it still only looked good when the Mini Calendar was displayed after it. I disabled the Mini Calendar, and then the Module Wrapper made it look horrible, so I tried to turn that off. Big mistake! This made my whole right column show below the center column (no table tags to close off the module). I had to reenable the module wrapper and increase the colspan to 8. Then I had to manually modify 4 templates, calendar_smallmonth_header (hiding the extra month header with comment tags), then adv_portal_birthdays, adv_portal_upcomingevents and adv_portal_todaysevents (increasing the colspan to 8 in each).

Now it displays perfectly.

Just installed on a freash vB 3.6.7 PL1 and vBA 3.0 RC1 and had just one small display issue with the calendar.

It was just a template issue, to correct the issue I went into
Admin CP > vBA CMPS > Edit Modules > Combo Calendar

From there just seperate the titles of Templates Used. Delete all commas and seperate each template by new line.

Hi there...

First of all i am Using vba3rc1 and vb367.

i installed this mod and had the first problem with the calendar collumns.
in the template files the colspan was set to 7. but i needed 8!
so this was needed to change...

http://www.vii-gilde.de/index.php

also if you look at the page you see 2 rows of the Month Name.
I would like to remove the second line of them.

Need Help :D

vgevolution

Modify the template, calendar_smallmonth_header, hiding the extra month header row with HTML comment tags. That's what I did, and it looks fine.

Need Help :DThe colspan 7 vs. 8 is because the module as shipped makes the assumption that the user doesn't have the column with the '>' in it set to display.

Not sure why there would be a dusplicate month name and since it's not being displayed on your site that way at the moment I guess you got that fixed as well.

Infineon12
06-26-2007, 01:10 PM
I used the bugfix from 2 posts above.
The problem now is that on "http://www.vii-gilde.de/forum/calendar.php" the header of the "Previous" and "Next" Month are also hidden.
So i need to remove the fix again.

So short said.
in "calender_smallmonth_header" is the second Header/Month Line.
<!-- <tr>
<td class="tcat" colspan="$colspan" align="center"><a href="calendar.php?$session[sessionurl]month=$month&amp;year=$year&amp;c=$calendarid&amp;do=displaymonth">$monthname $year</a></td>
</tr> -->
if i comment this like shown above the 2 lines on portal page are gone and only 1 is displayed. but also the header line of the "prev/next" month calender on calenderpage is hidden.
the first header line on portal page comes from the modulewrapper thing.

i reverted the changes and you can see the 2 headings here: http://www.vii-gilde.de/index.php
*note* i needed to set "Clean File Output" to NO to get it displayed! If YES is checked the calender simply dissapears

doesn't have the column with the '>' in it set to display.
where can i disable this!?
