The next release should be a plugin version.

Yes I know this and have also tried it. But it breaks certain features of cmps. Like adding modules to forum pages like forumhome index, forumdisplay, and showthreads. If you have found a work around for this please point me to it.

Thanks,

Just an FYI, it will still require 2 small file modifications in order to integrate the CMPS with other pages.

This will always require file edits.

I was thinking about upgrading to 2.0 but this new plugin option makes me hesitate...

If I install 2.0 now will I easily be able to switch to the plugin version when it comes out or will it be a pain? Thanks for your time!!

it are only a couple small and easy file edits, nothing much to worry about...

Very. There will be instructions with the next version on how to remove the 3 file changes you make with the current version, but I don't believe that will even be necessary since it can still run as a plugin version with the file changes still made.
