I am looking to test out the portal, and get it the way I want it before I launch it onto the main part of my site.

I would prefer to do this on line, so it links with my site, and I can test features on it.

I am wanting to put it in a sub folder, so no-one will know the url to it, and then move it with ease to my root folder.

My forums are in the sub folder http://forums.watp.co.uk

I will eventually want the portal to be in www.watp.co.uk

But I want to put it in something like www.watp.co.uk/portal for now, so I can set it up, and get everything ready.

Is there any easy way to do this, so I dont muck it up, and will it do any damage just moving all the files to a new folder?

I aint tried it yet, cause I dont wanna screw anything up :p

Cheers

Watson

Why not just put it in the folder you would like it in? When you download it, the file is called cmps_index.php, mostly so that you can set the options and test everything before renaming it to index.php. ;)

Why move forums? Your users will not see any changes or anything else until you rename the file or add a link to the file somewhere on your site.
