View Full Version : Can anyone make a "Who was online today" Hack or module

Hi,

VBadvanced CMPS looks great but is missing out some features that my members love. I used to use vbindex and it has a shoutbox and the who was online today. And my members are asking what happen to it and they want it back on, I really don't want to switch back I really like Vbadvanced CMPS. So I wonder if anyone have an idea of how to add it from other hacks or if someone can create it as a hack or module for vbadvance I would appreciate it.

I know what you mean. I just switched an hour ago, but definitely won't switch back. There are a couple of things, including the "Who Was Online Today" that I miss. Although with the number of visitors I have now I would much prefer a simple number instead of list of users. It could be in the mini-stat box.

It probably wouldn't be too difficult to create by looking at the other code to get an idea of how to write it for a new module.

Do you want this hack displayed on the CMPS page or in your forums footer or both? over at vbulletin.org there is such a hack. You would have to install that to display on your forum footer. To create a template and Module for CMPS would be cool.. I would also be interested in such an animal. As for your shoutbox and CMPS I just installed one on my site. http://www.ravensrealm.net. Right side. Is that what you are looking for?

Yes. Search Vbulleting.org there is a hack out for this already.

Did you take your shoutbox off? I don't see it.

I did remove the shoutbox as I was gettting spyware popups generated from the code. So it went Bye-Bye.

I should have a fully integrated vb/vbadvanced shoutbox in a few days (based on BVFull Shoutbox over at vb.org). However I had to hire a freelancer to fix the code because it was so jacked up trying to get it ported to vba. So I don't know about being able to offer it for "free". :( I'll have to think about that one. If I do have to "sell" it (to make up for the cost), it will be uber-cheap ($5 or less). I hate to have to do that...but I couldn't wait around any more, nor use the crappy shoutboxes out there already that were not integrated (I have literally tested and played with about 15 of them!). My community uses a vb shoutbox way too much, I had to pay to get it done right.

This new shoutbox will be displayed on the Home Page, as well as the FORUMHOME page (or either or, it's up to you).

I will make it installable tonight and upload it. As long as you understand the hack is not mine it is just ported for a module for vba.
