I know that to many of you this is going to seem like very stupid question but I am new to VBAdvanced so please forgive me.
I went through the install fine, I think, and I followed the directions to the letter. Made all the changes they said to make. I can see the cmps controls in my vb admin cp, I changed cmps_index to index and changed index to old_index.php . I am pretty sure I have the url set correctly in my vb options and cpms yet I still can not get the VBAdvance to come up as my forums new home page. This is frustrating me as I have placed other hacks on my forum and have always gotten through it, but for some reason I just can not figure out what I am doing wrong. I am trying to set this up on my test board before I put it on my active forum. If someone could help me get staright I would sure appreciate it. If I can understand what I am doing wrong I can get it on my active forum.
I am running vb 3.5.2 and have the VBAdvanced version 2
Thanks kindly for the assistance.

So you've got the CMPS and your forums in the same directory, and you're trying to have the CMPS as the first thing your visitors see, right? If so, have you tried following the instructions in this thread?

Yes sir I did that indeed. Funny thing is, when I type in the url in my browser address bar it will take me to the new VBAdvanced home page. The link to my forums will not work though so I am stuck there on that page.
Now, in my Admin CP it does not work if I click on the link to view my forum I get the page cannot be displayed error. I just still can not figure out what I have wrong. I have gone through every single help post here in this forum to see if I could figure it out but it's just not clicking
I appreciate your time in this, I am sure you are very busy.

Can you post a link to your site so I can have a look at a couple of things?

Sure thing. It is my test board at www.mulechat.com/forums
If I can give you any more info that would assist you in helping just let me know.
I noticed that when I click the link to view my forum in the Admin CP this is the url that is dislayed in my browser
http://www.mulechat.com/forum/old_index.php.php?
I can not find that in any settings I have worked with.

The link to your forums isn't working for me. If I take off the /forum from the end then it's redirecting me to http://www.mules.org/, which doesn't seem to have vB installed, so I'm assuming that's not the correct site.

Hmm not that is not correct. That is my site for the active forum.
Could I pm you the info to look inside my files and see if you can tell me what I have done wrong.
Oh you know what, remove the 's' from forums and it should work to that domain.
www.mulechat.com/forum sorry about that.

Ok, that URL got me to the right place. :)
I'm not seeing a link to your forums anywhere on the page though. Can you post the link that you're being directed to when you try to go to your forum's homepage through the Admin CP?

This is the link shown in my browser when I try to go to the forum via my admin cp
http://www.mulechat.com/forum/old_index.php.php?
I have looked at everything where I have had to enter any paths and I just can not find this  Thanks kindly for all your assistance. I thought I saw where this program could be paid for as well as VBulletin and do know that if I can figure it out I will be doing so.

Admin CP => vBulletin Options => Forums Home Page Options => Script Name for Forum Home Page
That's the setting that's causing your problem. You currently have 'old_index.php' entered, which is not correct for two reasons. First, it is not necessary to add the '.php' at the end. Second, 'old_index.php' does not seem to be what you renamed your old vB index.php file to. If you edit that option, change it to the correct filename, and leave off the '.php' part then you should be good to go.

OK Thank you Brian I got that straightened out.
Now when I type in my url www.mulechat.com/forum it takes me to the vbadvanced page and I can click on the forums link and enter the forum. BUT, it still does not work when I click the link from my admin cp to view the forum. Any ideas on that ?
Thanks kindly for the help. I have looked at the VB Addvanced forums for about a year now and have wanted to give it a go. I think it really adds a lot to a forum. Thanks for coming up with this :) Wish I had joined the wagon train a long time ago now.

Where exactly is it taking you to when you click on the link in the admin cp now?
