Search box that searches forums and links database?

I'm just wondering if there is a built in module or something that I'm like missing, because I'd like to put a search on my site that searches in both areas...

And building on that, is there an option to have "New Links" --- or something like that, that could be used in the cmps login box right beneath new posts and new threads?

Currently there are not any hacks that I'm aware of that will search both the forums and links directory.
