I upgraded from 3.5.2 recently to the new 3.5.3vb.

I am now missing directories on the links page, they don't show up at all. I already checked, all the templates are installed.

So I unistalled vbalinks and I reinstalled it, still the same problem. ASAP service would be appericated.

If you've uninstalled Links then when you re-installed it then everything would've been gone.

Before you uninstalled it I would've suggested verifying your permissions versus the category settings and also going into a category and saving it so that the cache is updated.

I'm not retarded. PERMISSIONS ARE FINE. Yes I know all the directories would be gone. They weren't showing up in the first place. When you install it, there are two defualt directories, are there not?

If you're going to be abusive, don't expect anyone to want to help you. You badmouth Brian and his products other sites, then come here expecting help.

1) No need to shout.

2) If you want help then you have to deal with the first round of questions that are the usual suspects. Nobody is exempt no matter how much you think you may know.

3) Leaving responses like you did in the site feedback forum right after leaving your response in this thread is tad, well, immature to say the least.

4) If you to open a support ticket one us will take a look.

Have you tried saving your directories though the admin cp to ensure that the directory cache has been updated?

Ahh, I hadn't noticed that, or had forgotten about it by the time I finished the rest of the thread.

HA! I don't recall badmouthing his products on other sites. That post in the support and feedback forum, is related not to this, but to an overall lack of repsonses in threads. I've noticed this site go down hill since the whole VBA GALLERY crapola.

Immature, I'll keep that in mind. Seeing some of your replies.

See message #2 above. :p That answer apparently wasn't good enough for him/her though. :o

Only becuase I gave you both all the information and answers to the first round of questions. And I answered that question too already.

Want to know why I'm ticked, I get the run around every time I ask a question, and I get the dummed down treatment. Only on this site do I feel like I'm getting the dummed down treatment.

Would it be possible to not get smart ass remarks made? Or do I have to hand them out to be noticed?

Between your postings here and over at vB.org you seem to be on a roll lately. Either way, thank you pointing out your multiple duplicate postings, I've closed them accordingly.

When you're ready to have the problem looked at submit a ticket and somebody will take a look.

Might as well close this too. If I have any further problems, I'll just be quite.

An ignorant person shows their annoyance quickly.
You should think about that.

People hate having that pointed out.
Yes, you've already shown what type of person you are. However, no matter how ignorant, rude, or demeaning you are we will still take a look at your problem if you submit a support ticket which you have not done yet.

Those weren't my duplicate postings, one was by someone else, and one was a different topic. Don't try to make something out to be more than it is. Yes, one was by somebody else on a different topic & was responded to by Brian and you then added your own issue which is the same as this one. The other post is the same issue as this one. No need for three different places to post the same issue.

Might as well close this too.No reason to at the current time.

How do you figure this one? Lack of response to threads? Let's see if we can use a little math to back up your claim. As of this moment, it shows that I make an average of 19.12 posts per day on here. Now let's compare some other numbers...

8,678 (the number of posts I made while the gallery was available here) / 343 (the number of days the gallery was available from here) = 25.3 (average posts/day while the gallery was available)

1,304 (the number of posts I've made since the gallery rights were transferred) / 64 (the number of days since then) = 20.38 (average posts/day since then)

So we get a difference of 4.92 posts per day. I think it's pretty safe to say that I was making at least 4.92 posts per day for gallery support threads. Seeing that the gallery was actually one of the harder products to support, I would say that number would be extremely low. So to be on the safe side, without figuring out the exact number of gallery posts, the numbers show that I have been just as active. Though I can guarantee you that the 4.92 number would be low for the gallery support, so if anything, I have been more active since then.

Only becuase I gave you both all the information and answers to the first round of questions. And I answered that question too already.
You said that you had re-installed the templates, and re-installed the product. Nowhere did you say that you had double checked your permissions, or that you had saved a category to update the category cache. So how do you figure that you had already given the answers to the first round of questions when you didn't mention either of the things Kevin suggested?

Want to know why I'm ticked, I get the run around every time I ask a question, and I get the dummed down treatment. Only on this site do I feel like I'm getting the dummed down treatment.
I'm sorry that you feel that you're getting "dummed down" treatment, but again, Kevin told you the most likely scenarios that he could think of. Had I seen the post before him, I would have suggested pretty much the same things. The only other thing I might have added would have been to ask you to download the package from here again and upload all of the files from there over your existing ones. Seeing that you're a "web developer" from your signature, you should know that not all problems can be easily answered. When Kevin determined that none of the common scenarios were the cause of your issue, what was the first thing he asked you to do? Submit a support ticket so one of us could take a look at the issue and find out exactly what the problem was.

So what were you expecting here, for us to reply within 17 minutes at 2AM, or for us to make the exact same reply to 3 threads? Yes, I saw the threads yesterday as I was answering new posts. I didn't exactly see much of a point in replying to them when I had already replied in here though. Granted you could argue that I did not fully answer the post in your second link the first time around. I am human though, and since the description of that problem kind of blended in with the problem of the SQL error, I'm sure I thought you were describing the same thing. You also had a reply to that thread about 4 hours after you made the post, and then didn't come back until 8 days later to say that did not fully fix the problem.

Seriously, I'd like to know, what are you expecting from us here?
