toolbars images, and shoutbox

hello, fisrt i wold like to say i love the portal i have on my site
let me start by saying how my portal is setup, first off i have 2 portal page links

i have www.site.net *redirected to www.site.net/index.php* and i have www.site.net/forum/cmps_index.php

now the file thats in the http folder root was renamed to index.php so it can be the index of the site, but when i go to it the page is buggy, here is a screen shot of the renamed cmps_index.php *here (http://i5.photobucket.com/albums/y176/seesoe/2b58aa08.jpg)*
but when i go to the cmps_index.php thats not renamed and is located in the /forum folder it looks like this *here (http://i5.photobucket.com/albums/y176/seesoe/4180673e.jpg)*, and everything works perfectly on that page

also as you see the shoutbox iis stuck on loading

what could be causeing this to happen? also if you need any other info just ask and i will give as much as i can, so i can get this fixed

maybe this could be a case of white pages? but only in those bars? *where the pages loads and its white*

Looks like you need to edit your CSS and change the background images to point to the full URL to those images. As for the shoutbox, I would assumg that's no pointing to the full URL either.

i know this is a dumb question but where/what is the css, how can i edit it. isn't that when its installing at it asks you where all your images are at?

nope:( i did exactly what was said to do from that page and nothing happen, its still the same

You didn't change them to the correct URL's then, or you didn't modify all of your CSS.

ok so now i went back to make sure i have did everything right to the css but when i looked, i did not see the changes i did last time, and thats why it did not work, so i did the changes once more and it worked. how ever, i have 2 small problems to sort out,
1 the shoutbox still does not work, the box where its located still just says, "loading" im not sure where i would edit the full url at?
2. on my skin at the top where the header is, you can i see in the picture that there is like a built in toolbar. the bottons in the middle are showing up, like before, but the sides of it still did not, im guessing i have to find the template and add /forum/ to it?

ok i fixed the toolbar thingy(2), now the shoutbox, would i find the url i need to edit in the module code?

well i still can't figure out the shoutbox,
but i also just noticed a bigger problem, my portal has links to other parts of the forum, like the navbar usercp, when i click on it it goes to www.site.com/usercp.php it should be going to /forum/ but its not, this is the case for all the links to any pages from the portal
