Slow Loading Homepage

This seems to be a common problem, however I'd appreciate it if someone can try it on their end.

The homepage is frustratingly slow. Every other page on the site is screaming fast. I have a dedicated server, so I know the server load is fine.

By the way, I'm running 3.5.3 and vBa 2.1.

I reinstalled the 2.1 files. I had to double-check the files were overwriting.

It does seem faster than it did yestrerday. But I would still like to hear if if slow on other people's end.

Try going in as a not logged in user and see if its faster.

I had/have that problem with hunttalk.com as a registered user it takes forever, however as a not logged in user its takes no time at all.
granted its running 3.07, but last year I saw a thread that had a fix for it. I beleive it had something to do with the user groups .

I am getting ready to go through and upgrade hunttalk and hopefully it will be fixed, It the last site to upgrade out of three due to the size and some bugs on that forum.

I keep getting connection reset errors on the homepage right after the page almost loads. I wonder if this is associated.

I am having the same problem. Vbullettin is working fine, till I am installing vBa 2.1. Then it strating to work so slow 0_o

I've found slow reason, the point is news module - may be there are too much news ? Any limit over there?

Hmm, are you sure its the new module, how many forums do you have it pulling news from?
