Putting the events on the Main Page

Hello. I would like to know how to put the Events which appear in the What's Going On? Section in the Forum on the main page in the centre column as the perpetually top "News".

Is this possible?

I'm pretty sure there's been a hack released for this...

I know it's out there somewhere because I saw it on a site somewhere while doing some research over at vbulletin.org. I just can't remember what the site was. I haven't found a hack as of yet. :(

Edit: I did find the one hack that adds upcoming events under the mini-calendar, but that still doesn't do the news-type listing without the calendar.

I have a working version using Tom's hack, but there is some funny stuff going on.

What I was able to make does have the events listed, but it requires the calendar to be on the same page, and requires it to execute before the upcoming events because the upcoming events uses the calendar variables. It was based off someone else's hack that I found here. I forgot exactly where. :(
