404 problems

I'm having this problem with 404 errors. After I've installed CMPS, i realised that when i encounter 404 errors, it still loads the page, but with broken images..and yes, i've got a 404.shtml file in my root, but it doesnt direct to that file when 404 occurs..

It looks like you have things set up to redirect you to your homepage instead of the 404.shtml file.

That depends on your server. If you're not sure I would suggest contacting your host.
