I have a site with 20,000 or so uniques per day, 120,000 members, and almost 1,000,000 posts.

I just upgraded from vb 3.03 and the vbadvanced that is associated with it to vb3.5.3 and the newest vbadvanced.

Since then, my server load has gone through the roof. When I went from 2.3 to 3.0 of vb and started using vbadvanced, I had similar problems. We couldnt figure it out, so we threw more hardware at it and it sufficed. ( Dual Xeon 2.8g HT with 2gb ram )

I have been banging my head on this, I have posted a few posts on vb.com and one recommended I disable vbadvanced. So I threw up a .html homepage to divert to forums. For the last hour server loads are stable.

Any comments or suggestions?

You're server seems to be running extremely slow at the moment, so I can't view the page to see what modules you're using and such. A dynamic homepage such as the CMPS is always going to be more server intensive than a static file, but there may still be some things you can do to optimize the CMPS. If you'd like to sumbit a support ticket via the Members' Area here though I'll be glad to take a look at things for you.
