Sure, RSS

Find a javascript out on the net for displaying RSS feeds
Then use the built in external.php file to pull posts

The link will be something like this

www.yoursite.com/forums/external.php?type=RSS2&forumids=40

the forumsid=40 will be the forum id of your news forum. ;)

I don't have a news forum. I display news items based on post icons. How would I do this?

Is there any way you or anyone else could give me a hand setting this up? I would be greatly appreciative.
