I'm one of those guys not afraid to RTFM. However, with this product I find the manual severely brief. I would really like to do some things like import unformatted php files into modules, etc but I can't figure out how to do it because there is so little documentation.

Cheers! This is a really good portal platform I just need to learn A LOT MORE.

Right now we are looking into a new way to present and let the manual become a "living one". If we get any progress with this I'll make an announcement.

Why not put a link beside each item in the CPMS Admin Panel that takes you to a thread in a forum .

Then every body who knows how to do a certain function can add there own comments on how to use each function

Set up some rules such as

All posts must be made in clearly written language that the most inexperienced newbie can understand
get some Moderators to volunteer to police the sections
keep it done to only about ten posts or explanations per item so it doesn't become overwhelming ..... when you go to a General Help Forum where the members are FREELY Giving Advice, it is quite ofter too overwhelming as there is

Too many Posts
Too Much Geek Speak
Too much assumed that someone know how to find a certain file so they can edit it

This is just a suggestion on my part

feel free to erase the post if I am being to suggestive

I totally agree with you. I have more than 12 years of experience programming and I cannot understand just how to start with this product.

I ask for solutions and nobody responds or answers are not useful, so I would expect a normal manual explaining step by step how to start and the rest of funcionalities. However the existing manual is very poor.

I bought vBolletin and two hours later I had the forum working. I installed CMPS several days ago and I am in the same place that at the beginning.

I would appreciate a useful answer. Thanks-

Jose
