I am about to open my site later this week, but I am having one last problem and couldn't find an answer because I didn't know what to look under.

On the main page if this site, all of the content in the modules look to be limited with the amount of characters each has. Now I am looking to do this with my site so I can actually have more modules and have it look clean.

The problem is, how do I go about doing this? I would like to have a set amount of characters (content) then have this "[more..]" clickable so the member can finish reading the article on the actual page.

Does this make sense?

Also... how do I make it to limit the amount of threads shown on the "recent threads" module? I have 10 now and would like 5.

Can someone please help me?? :o

Go to the Edit Modules screen and click the title of the module you want to edit. You'll be able to set options for each module there.

To change the number of threads shown on Recent Threads, click that module and scroll down. You'll see where to set the number.

The same for the news articles. You can set how many characters to display.

Well I did everything you said and the recent threads worked..thanks!

The only thing now is that I can't get one of my modules to shorten the way I wanted. I have a recipe of the week module and an article of the week module that I need to shorten and have the "[more]" added to. Is there something else I have to do?
I did do exactly what you said, but there was nothing there about character limits.
This is all I have on that page:

Edit Module: Recipe of the Week!
Module Tools
Main Options
BB Code Module Options
Module Shell Template Options
Usergroups

Well, I did it my way, which is a generic version of it, but it works, I just got tired of waiting around here for help. This place is really bad when it comes to helping people, good luck with your site, I hope you get more help than I did :)
