not sure what to fix where!
anyways It was working just fine, and my board still functions perfectly
I have tried to create new templates, re-install blah blah blah
check all the paths, edit php files but it still won't work
if i start a test board and install it all works fine so something must have gotten jacked up on my live board
Is there a way to troubleshoot?
thanks in advance

so it is not due to any file problems, I copied all the files into another dir and used a new db and the cpms_index.php worked like a charm
now if I set that test db to use my live db instead then I get the dreaded blank white page
so something must be hooped in mylive db
please give me some clues as to how to find out just what is screwed!

Do you have any of your live pages integrated with CMPS?

CMPS did work for a few daysIf it was working then it wouldn't break on it's own. The two leading causes for the dreaded white pages are...
1) Templates. If somebody upgrades from, for example, vB 3.5.0 to 3.5.4 they may get the white page syndrom. The solution would be to rerun vbacmps_install.php and select the option to re-install only the templates.
2) Global.php. Older versions of CMPS required a modification to the /forums/global.php file but the current version does not unless you intergate the CMPS modules into your vBulletin pages. The solution would be to do the global.php edit described in the installation file.
Have you installed any hacks or plugins after CMPS? Something had to have affected it.
Try both of the above steps, in order, to see if either takes care of the problem for you (in other words, try step #1 and see if that fixes it for you else go ahead and try step #2).

done and done
I followed the suggested changes to global.php
all my VB files were copied to another dir and CMPS runs fine on that one IF I use a new DB
I re-instaled templates over and over, dropped the tables associated with CMPS and re-installed and all no go :(
so something must be fargin with it in my live database

The only other thing I can think of is... did you make absolutely sure that the $forumpath variable in the cmps_index.php is correct?

on a whim I decided to try and install ver2.0
did all the steps till I got the "hey stupid go get the proper version for your forum"
I then did a full install of 2.1 and what do you know it works again!
I have some error showing in i.e. but who cares!!!! I can see the portal now :)
