Everything was going good, till I added a news post in one of the forums that replicates to the front page. The forum's alignment is still ok, but the index is all messed up. And it first I thought it was something to do with the calendar. So I was reading through the FAQ, and followed this thread. (http://www.vbadvanced.com/forum/showthread.php?t=1342) That didn't solve it... and I'm stumped. If any of you want to take a look at it, it's www.unifiedx.com I'm lost

Does it have a quote in it? I had that problem, removed the qoute and all was well. Just checked, and yes you do.. Either make it so you show more charactors in the post or remove the quotes. It will go back to normal.. I had this same thing happen.

Is this a bug or by design?

I dunno... I posted a news article in the forum to see how it would look on the front page. mholtum suggest removing the quote tags and that worked beautifully. Why it happened? I dunno...

Yep, this happened to me earlier today, and it took me a few minutes to sort it out. I would really like to be able to use quotes in my news articles.

All you have to do is set it to a higher charactor level.

It's only designed to take up to like chars. just set it to 0 to disable..I know when it gets all whacked it looks real bad..I freaked when it happened to mine..;)

It's a limitation. The quote tag opens a table, while the [/quote] tag ends the table. If the table is not ended, then it will mess up the page. You can still use quotes in your news posts - you just have to be sure that your 'News Maximum Characters' option is set to a high enough value to allow for the ending [/quote] tag. ;)

Gotcha.... But now I've got a new problem. I cam home from work and the frontpage is completely gone! I can stil get to the forums, and I haven't had time to log on to the host's cp yet to see if the files are there or if they've been changed. And before anyone says anything, the directories are protected from web browsing, and I've not given anyone anything remotely close to access or passwords. Gonna change them though, just to be safe >mutter mutter< LOL

That was easy enough. Uninstall and then reinstall... back up and good to go :D
