I am trying to edit the "look" of the welcomeblock. I am using it in the right column.

I figured out how to make the header bar do what I want.....I just can't figure out how to make the rest look different.

I tried look at the source code and tracing through welcomeblock.php, adv_portal_welcomeblock,etc. but I am an idiot. It must be right in front of my face....but I can't see it.

I want to be able to change the background (where is says "Log In", etc.) to blend into the rest of the page better than it does here:

Here I also need to be able to control the "private messages" portion.

Thanks.

I finally figured it out....after much hair pulling....but at least I learned something.

The vb_portal template comes along AFTER the CSS style preferences are loaded. Included in the vb_portal template is additional CSS, some of which was "alt2" stuff....which contradicted the settings I wanted in the style. Once I edited the template I got the output I wanted.
