vBadvanced CMPS v2.2.0 (works with vBulletin v3.6) is now available for public download here. For those wishing to upgrade or download for the first time, please follow the links to download the CMPS from the 'Programs / Scripts' link on the homepage here.

For those who are upgrading, simply download the new package, upload all files over your existing ones, point your browser to the cmps_install.php file that was uploaded to your admincp directory, and choose the option to upgrade.

Enjoy! :)

Will the upgrade work before VB3.6 is installed?

Will the upgrade work before VB3.6 is installed? Some coding has changed with the vBulletin vB 3.5.x to vB 3.6.x releases and the new CMPS 2.2.0 is targetted specifically for the new release.

When you go to the download page you'll still see both versions, 3.5.x and 3.6.x, so you can still use it with vB 3.5.4 with no problems. When the time comes for you to upgrade to vB 3.6.x then the CMPS upgrade will only take a few minutes to download the new package, upload them to your server, and then run the install script to upgrade.

Thank you... So there is no point in upgrading till a stable Vb3-6 is released.
Can I install the new version of Vbadvanced into a seperate folder (not in the root) & point it at a test forum?

Thank you... So there is no point in upgrading till a stable Vb3-6 is released.Correct, version 2.2.0 is for compatibility purposes only, not to introduce any new features.

Can I install the new version of Vbadvanced into a seperate folder (not in the root) & point it at a test forum?Sure. Inside of the 'cmps_index.php' (which you can name just about anything you want) you need to set a variable as to where your forum resides. Just point it to your vB 3.6.x test forums. Just remember to upload the files to your vB 3.6.x folder and not your live 3.5.x folder. ;)

I just installed version 2.2.0 on vB 3.6, and the footer still says
"Powered by vBadvanced CMPS v2.1.0"

see here http://www.microsoftforums.org/ Did you have CMPS previously installed on that site before the vB 3.6.x upgrade? If so, then when you upgraded to CMPS 2.2.0 did you make sure all of the files were over-written? ... and you ran the install script and chose the Upgrade option?

Hmm... I just overwrote all my old CMPS files, changed the forumpath in cmps_index.php, ran the upgrade from the script file and now I'm getting:
Fatal error: Call to undefined function: print_portal_output() in /home/xxxxxxx/public_html/cmps_index.php on line 44

Any ideas?

I fixed it, i re-ran the install script, and choose upgrade, and it fixed the version number. But for some reason, it don't change the version number during a clean install..??

thanks alot for working this out so swiftly.

i did the upgrade but i keep getting the:
Invalid forum path specified! Please edit this file and be sure to include the correct path for your $forumpath variable.

although my path is correct. i should add that i just transfered to a new domain and now have strange paths for example the cmps_index file is in: /srv/www/masite/masite/httpdocs while the forum is in /srv/www/mahost/masite/subdomain/forum/httpdocs could that be causing the problem?

Is anyone else having a problem with their gradients not working on their CMPS? They work on my forums, but not on my portal. Does anyone know where i go to update the images path for gradients? Doing a images update using the install php file dont seem to show the gradients path..

You have to manually update the paths to the gradients. (I think the installation instructions mentions it.)

TimeWalk,

Since you're using a deviation of the stock style then the odds are it's not your templates that need modifying but rather your CSS definitions. Go into the Style Manager for the style you're using and scroll down a bit. There you'll see a section named Image Paths that contain directory values; make sure that those are fully qualified. Then continue scrolling down and check to see if you spot any other directory settings and update those as well.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but from the paths you give your forum is on a different website (domain) to your installation of vBAdvanced. I would suggest this will probably not work.
ANYBODY, will cross domain installations work???? (notice the 'subdomain' part in the second path.....)

Hey Zachery, you really do have an attitude problem!
Why not take a couple of weeks off work, go on a hill walking holiday or something and get a grip on reality.
I always came here because it was a nice friendly place to get excellent software, exchange pleasantries and get advice. Every time I post recently you either close the thread or put the mockers on it.
Have I done something wrong, I know I'm a little old fashioned (it's an age thing) but I try my hardest not to tread on peoples toes.
Still, life goes on.... ho hum

gothic thanks alot for responding, it's not a different website the site is masite (actually it's more like masite.com in that case) the first path where the file is, would be at: masite.com/index.php but the forum is at forum.masite.com. is that not possible to work?

I really don't think that I have an attiude problem, however the point of the matter this thread is to announce vBa 2.2 for 3.6 not for support on it. If you have a support question that needs to be anwsered it will need to be put into proper thread or ticket so I can actually find it and attempt to help. I don't like it when I ignore some request for help with an issue when I can't find it.

I was informing everyone that this thread is not for support, and if they need it to open a ticket or post a thread. Nothing more :)

Zach had said "please" in every prior post he has made in this thread, and has not said anything rude at all. I really don't see how you would think he has an attitude problem from those first couple of posts. And he is exactly right. This thread is meant to discuss the release of 2.2.0, not support issues. There are other forums for that, and they are there for a reason. We're providing, updating, and supporting a product for free here, so I don't think following the simple request for starting a new thread for support issues is too much to ask. :)

I just viewed your site. You still have relative paths to the gradients. You need absolute paths.

You have:
background: #869BBF url(images/gradients/gradient_tcat.gif) repeat-x top left;

You need:
background: #869BBF url(/forums/images/gradients/gradient_tcat.gif) repeat-x top left;

etc...

I know the job(s) and support Zachery offers is stirling, but it was beginning to feel personal Brian. No reflection on the man at all.
I have not used my vBPortal licenses for more than six months for many of the same reasons (you daren't even breath over there in case you bring the wrath of the Lords down upon you  ) and I always felt a lot more content in the relaxed atmosphere here.
