It is much easier to place your modules and such, just click and move.. That is why I changed

If you take a look at the screenshots you should be able to see the differences better. ;)

Hehe, I couldn't work out the difference either.

Screenshots don't count for much, you can move things around and change options to make screens change.

What's the difference in the underlying vision though?

homepage = top level collation?
cmps = collation plus content creation?

Which gives more control of the homepage and performs best? That's really the question I want answering :)

I think the answer for your question would be the CMPS.

wow... those of you who are using CMPS as just a front-page portal are missing out... its much MUCH more powerful than that.

Homepage is just as it says... a homepage.... CMPS can run your whole site.

At the moment I'm working on a site which is entirely built around CMPS and vBulletin, however the forum itself (in traditional form) only makes up about 20% of the overall content.

The rest of the content will be served using the forum software, but won't look anything like a discussion forum... It is a big project, and I look forward to showing it off.... but my point is, think creatively and you'll see the real benefit of CMPS.

CMPS can run your whole site. I'm a big example lol

static html pages are easy to integrate, and my dev site has plenty of them: www.myfamilycorner.net, but I also run some PHP apps that I can't integrate into the CMPS, as it seems I have to convert them to modules instead. So I don't think it can run an entire website (w/o knowing how to convert), if you have dynammic content.

Overall, it's the best vb CMS out there though. ;) I am switching from Mambo to this because I like the integration better, and while Mambo is more powerful and has more modules...it's backend is a pain in the arse...whereas CMPS is much easier to maintain.

This is the best portal software for vBulletin that I know of.
