Sorry, I'm lost. I've been looking at CMS or portal software. I purchased vBulletin and are now looking for something to handle the content.

Can anyone in lame mans term please tell me the difference between vBadvanced and vbPortal. It all seems to come from the same dev house (not sure) and for me it seems as if both do exactly the same.

I have a bulletin board that I would like to change into a more friendly and not so much JUST BOARD environment, thus why I decided on a cms system.

Any help appreciated.

My site was on vbPortal for years. It was always a little difficult to add modules and arrange things around.

I switched to vBAdvanced when it 1st came out. I did it on a whim. vB 3.0 went gold and vbPortal did not have a solid working product for it. Brian had a solid working product so I made a switched in the blind. Best blind choice I made.

I have not been let down by the vBAdvanced crew. (On this project)

It is odd that it is free. Because it is free is probably why there are requests for comparisons.

If you need user friendly and a product that the makers take pride in fixing when it breaks (or to match upgrades), then vBAdvanced is your solution.
