View Full Version : vBa Links Directory Updated For vB 3.6
Brian
08-14-2006, 10:29 PM
vBadvanced Links Directory 1.0.1 (vB 3.6) is now available in the Members' Area here. The main changes from the previous version are that it is compatable with vBulletin v3.6, and it now installs itself as a product with no file modifications necessary. Upgrade instructions are very simple, and may be found in the readme.html file included with the download package.
In addition, we have extended all current vBadvanced Links Directory licenses for an extra 6 months (180 days to be exact) beyond the license's original expiration date. This means that everyone who has purchased the product before today will have the additional time to access the Members' Area and download new versions. Our customers have been waiting for a vB 3.6 compatable update for longer than we would like, and we wanted to show our appreciation for everyone's patience.

finally! Glad to see the extended M/A..
You might want to update the readme file instructions to fix an important typo especially for new users.

I didn't expect the extension for members area so thank you for that and the vB 3.6 release. :)
There are minor issues (navbar, login and version phrasing), however, that were posted in the Troubleshooting forum. :)

There shouldn't be any phrasetypeid querys in any of our vBulletin 3.6 packages.

I really have to wonder why the Photo Post guys cannot release a stable working version of VB Gallery for VB 3.6 just as quick as Brian has done with VB Advanced Links. If only VB Advanced Gallery was never sold off, I just dont think the Photo Post guys are doing as well of a job as Brian ever has.
Brian please keep up the excellent work, we all really appreciate your efforts!
Thank you.

Brian,
If I am logged into the board everything works fine with the Links Directory. But if I am not logged in and viewing as 'guest', I get the following error message.
Warning: Unknown(./includes/vba_cmps_include_error.php): failed to open stream: No such file or directory in /includes/functions.php(2338) : eval()'d code on line 14
Fatal error: (null)(): Failed opening required './includes/vba_cmps_include_error.php' (include_path='.:/hsphere/shared/apache/libexec/php4ext/php/') in /hsphere/local/home/dcpaq20/domainname/includes/functions.php(2338) : eval()'d code on line 14
Any idea whats wrong? This only occurs when not logged into the board.
Thanks
Doug

Zachery,
That did the trick, Thank you so much!
By the way it even fixes the Photo Post VB Gallery error I was getting, but I will let them fix their own. :)

Brian,
Just one little typo ... in the instructions for upgrading you refer to vblinks_install.php, which should be vbalinks_install.php.

Yes.
The new 2.0 Beta also works fine on 3.6.1.
