Small Path problem

I have installed vbadvanced with no problems however I am having a small problem with the paths. Heres what happens:

If I type www.mydomain.com my site will go direct to my forum
If I type www.mydomain.com/index.php then it will go to the portal..

What I want is simply www.mydomain.com to go to portal

I can not find anywhere to change this could anybody assist please

i assume you have both your forum and portal both installed in your root directory?

No my forum is installed in a directory called forum..Sorry I mean yes! I have included the files in the correct tree for example cmps_index.php has been installed in root and all other files have been moved to /forum/admincp, ect ect

You must have a htaccess or a index.html/index.htm that is doing it. I'd suggest checking these things.
