I have been looking for a way to integrate phpAuction (visuals to start) vB/vBa.. all i could find was this vBPortal header/footer hack..

Now the question is if it can be modified for vBA without vBPortal ?

Help please !!

I, too, would be very interested to see this to be done. Can someone please do it?

This is a tad off topic but I hired a commercial auction software owner/developer to integrate his auction package into vbulletin and it's done with the exception of some module integration and colors.

Anyway, there's a picture on my site (bad timing because I am moving hosts today which requires DNS movement) that shows the front window of the auction package.

This package is going to be available for release in the near future.

I just heard back from the developer. He told me it will be ready for release sometime near the end of next week.

Ok. The auction package is online (not quite production because we have to convert the existing users to eliminate the double login) and it's fully integrated with vbulletin including a vbadvanced module to show up to 10 newly listed auctions.

Release and Price will be available shortly.

Hmmm...$120 for a CGI script integrated into vb? For that money he could have written a PHP based one.

the price is ok, but i have had the ultimate-auction script for years ( the same script as far as i can see) and their member section has been down for at least one year. i'm concerned what will happen if i need support..

It may be CGI based, but show me a PHP auction auction that's integrated into vbulletin and vbadvanced that actually works?

First I've heard of the member section being down. All I know is that all customers get free support on the product and I've been involved with the testing of it for several months now with no problems getting in touch with the staff?

LOL...well actually I have a customer that uses PHPAuction and vb and I have been working on the integration and it will be done right after I release my other script => vBWar....

Excellent. Glad to see we will have a choice. I'll definitely compare the features when it's available. :)

that link is not working, I am looking for this mod as well, if anyone has it I will pay them if the mod works. I want it so when someone signs up for the auction they also sign up for vbulletin 3.0.6
note I am using a moded version of php gpl2.5 (mine is gpl 2.51)

Hi All

Having looked at many auctions my decision rested on php pro bid. I asked their support for a full integration with user signup on both auction side and vbulletin side so users had access to the forums if signed up on auction and access to the auctions if signed up on vbulletin. I also requested an charge/no charge button in admin so I could decide who received invoices or not. The whole thing works really well and has the look of standard vbulletin.

If your looking for auctions it's worth looking at php pro bid.

Hi All

Hi Dave,

I have a few questions because I was involved in this integration effort early on. I am glad to see it is working out.

1. Did they charge you anything extra for the integration?
2. Was anything done to address the fact that certain usernames that are legal in vbulletin "^^%/234_34 \***wx" for example, but don't really work in probid under certain circumstances, as in probid Shops (for example).
3. Does the auction system require imported users to complete their probid user profile prior to bidding or selling?
4. Did any of your users express concern about having their data imported into an "auction site." Did you let them know or did you just do it?
5. Did you have any issues with importing banned users or COPPA users?

Regards,

Matt

Hi
Sorry for the late reply,

The integration was not strait forward one. I will answer your questions in order.
1, yes, there was a cost but this was agreed before any work was undertaken.
2, there was a big problem with import of passwords due to the difference of incryption between the two, as far as I am aware the usename side imported with no problem.
3, yes it does, every member that signs in to the auction using the forum usernames & passwords are promted to complete the rest of the signup info.
4,I did give all members 30 days notice that there details were going to be imported but in retrospect there was no need to warn them, after all it was an extention of our current userbase and they was not forced to sign in to the auctions.
5, We only have 6 banned users, and no coppa at that time, banned users were made members again then banned when the process was complete.

Ther whole thing works very well and I am pleased with the work they have done. I just wish I knew how to make a module for the vbadvanced home page to show the last 6 auctions listed?.

It took a few days for the password issue to be resolved, but I am not sure how they did it.

Dave
