Is there any plans to make the counter updates via CRON ?? My lazy butt after adding a bunch of links never wants to go in and click the 2 buttons in the CP.
Thoughts?

The counts are updated automatically when links are added. The maintenance option is there just incase there's a problem.

Hmm, thats strange. When I add links the only thing that updates is within the categories. Nothing updates on the main index unless the counter updaters are ran. Probobly something else I broke :P

Ok, after doing some testing, here is what I came up with.
When I (Administrator) add a link to the directory, nothing shows up in the main index OR category views (for the last added link). However when I browse to the actual directory it is in, the link appears in the list. After running The update counters utility, the link now appears in the "last added link" of the categories, AND the counters/stats are updated in the statistics.
NOW, I changed my administrative permissions "moderate this group = YES".
I added a new link, got the message of wait till a admin approves it; I approve the link through the moderation que, go out the the main index, and LOW AND BEHOLD!!! It has all been updated sucesfully. The link counter updates, as well as the "last link added" in the index/category views.
Conclusion: The update counters function runs only through the moderation que. If someone adds a link that does not need moderation, the counters will not update.
Was this intentional or accident? It was just freaking me out for a little bit. Atleast I know I am not completely insane :D

I see that you're still running Beta 2, so maybe it's a result of this bug?

Most Likely :) Thanks for pointing this out for me.
Right now I am waiting for the product to go gold before re-uploading any files, as the modifications to the PHP files alone are a few hours worth of work, and I'm willing to wait until the product goes gold before doing an update to it.
Apologizes for the overlapping of products, as mine is now probobly (and is) out of date :)
* Waits patiently in the corner for gold release * :)
