news module doesn't work anymore

My news doesn't show anymore. I can edit the settings for the news.php module, but only the basic things. I can't appoint forums to it, nothing. The poll module works: i can choose what forums to pull forums from, etc. Same goes for the latest threads module.

Do you have the number of threads to display set to something higher than 0? Also, have you tried editing that specific page to make sure the setting hasn't been customized there?

I have absolutely no options available for the news module.

I click on the edit pages -> homepage

from there I can set the settings for what modules to enable (yes, the news module is enabled), and these options (from top to bottom):
* Options
* Site Navigation Options
* Current Poll Options
* News Archive Options
* Recent Threads Options
* Welcome Block Options
* Stats Options

[edit]I just uninstalled vbadvanced cmps completely, removed all old files, re-uploaded them and re-installed it...... still no news shown on frontpage or options available to edit the news module settings

I would really like to fix this asap since my frontpage looks crappy without it

Did you delete the news module and then add it manually again at some point? There shouldn't be any way your settings would just disappear otherwise. If you look in the "Extras/modules" folder that comes with the package though, you can upload the news.module file from there using the "Downlaod / Upload Module" link to reinstall the module.

mine disappear too ... and the recent threads stop working as well ...

Thanks, this thread just solved a problem of news not displaying the whole thread in the main page.

Re-Uploaded the news module and all well :)
