Hi there,

Everything with our new installation of vblinks on vb3.03 is working great, but I do have a question about using the post a reply option.

It seems that when a reply is posted, it has to be validated by the admin. Is there a way to turn this validation off so that users can quickly see the replies? Will this work if link validation is turned off?

I found the answer to the above problem in another post. Thanks.

Also, there are a couple of very minor points, but ideas that might encourage more people to reply to links. ( I think the discussion and sometimes the offering of thanks to people who submit links, is a good way to promote the submission of new links. )

1. It appears that the only way users can read the replies is to click the option "View Link Details". Is there another way? It seems this way is a bit hard to find and understand. If I could add a link which says "View Link Replies" that might be nice. Or modify the exisiting one to read "View Link Details & Replies" might be a good alternative. Is it ok to modify the code for this?

2. Another thing I was thinking about was how to pull these repies and post them onto the main page of vBadvanced. That way users can easily see if there are new replies about a link or links they are watching.

Anyway, just friendly suggestions.

The Links directory is a fabulous addition. Thanks very much.

- Jim :)

P.S. I just noticed that in the "5 Newest Links" section, the reply numbers are not posted there. They are all still at the default of 0. I'm not sure if this is a bug or not, but I thought I'd mention it. Thanks.

Both of these suggestions would be good to have. Is there a parameter you can send to any of the scripts that will pull up the replies to a link?

Being able to allocate a forum ID to add the replies to (or a redirection to the replies anyway) would also be great. Maybe this could be set per link category so replies to links in category 1 would be added or linked to forum id 5 (just using 1 and 5 as an example). This way when people view the forums they still see the link replies and comments.

Does that usergroup have permission to view replies to links?
