Looked around and can't seem to get a straight answer from any of the docs.
I was using vbportal but it smoked my forums when I updated them to vbulletin 3.6.3.
Does vbadvanced work with vbulleting 3.6.3 or 3.6.4?
Thoughts appreciated.

I am also interested in case multiple people speed up the response.
vbPortal was too much, and I was finding it hard to get timelines for specific mods on existing modules etc.

dleblanc, thats great to hear.
Did you do a default install, or did you have to customize things? Did you have any trouble?
Please let me know...before I bite the bullet!

As a rule of thumb the vBa products usually don't have an issue with minor upgrades (eg: 3.6.3 to 3.6.4). The problem comes when Jelsoft makes changes to the backend system (eg: field names, phrases, adding/removing tables, etc.) like vB 3.0.x to vB 3.5.x did and then vB 3.5.x to vB 3.6.x as well.

I am a non-tech guy and I depend on non complicated installation and compatibility of software integrating with little too minor issue when upgrading. I use vBulletin as my hub program with vBdvanced as my portal, PhotoPost Pro as my gallery, and vBlogetin as my blog (new and growing blog). Upgrade for each complement the other extremely well. Now each time an upgrades is introduced, don’t rush to implement unless you have a test site to try first, play with to assure it’s stable. But to answer your question more direct I do all my installation as default settings. Always read the readme text for installation, it is well written, step through guide, etc. I do some customizing from Mod I download and some from reading from the vBulletin.com, vBdvanced.com and vBvanced.org.
You will find vBulletin, vBdvanced, PhotoPost Pro, and vBlogetin are excellent program. I am not here to sell any of these products. I used others in the past and had good reviews on some while bad on others, but depends on your usage depends on your choice. My choice of vBullentin is the team’s dedication to constantly improve…like others I don’t like constants upgrades, but that’s how you make it the best. The Support team on all these products I mention here has never let me down yet, but there are critics here that may disagree, its call freedom of choice and freedom of speech (voice of opinion).
KW802 - Kevin provides some solid (excellent) information when you need them.
Good luck on your quest and I hope you the best.

I am using vBulletin 3.6.8 the latest version, just out a few days now.
I just installed vBadvanced 3_0_rc1 about 1 hour ago and all is working perfectly :)
All done with the default install no problems.
