Display last post in a set forum ????

Hi Guys

I know this is going to be a lame question but I am stuck.

I need a module (and I gues sthe template to go with it) that will simply display the last post of a furum whose ID that I will define (hard coded is fine by me)

So like the news module displays the last x news items from a defined forum I need something like that but cut down if you see what I mean - I cant just use the news module as I want that as well.

I hope you all undewrstood that.

You could always edit the news.php file, change the variables in there and just hard code in the values, and then create a new module with that file. ;)

I would have thought this would be a pretty handy module for people and hoped it was already out there somewhere.

The news thingy displays the last x posts from forum(s) x - and that works with the added complication of the archive bits

I would expect for anyone knows what they are doing (unlike me) it would be fairly easy to display the last post from a predefined forum (hard coded forum id # is fine) as a module.

Rob - did you ever get this module working? I'm looking for something like it and also had a heart attack when I looked at the news module. :)

it is too easy, based on News Module u may change the variables and make new template to feach ur new module thats it :D as i did with "Latest Thread Forum" module to make other block
