custom page content not working

I've read the How-to and a few other informative threads, but still can't seem to get custom content on the front page. I noticed more people than just I are having the probem.

After adding a custom html or template page, you can view it from a different page (adding parameters like =google or something), but I want it to show up on the very front page in the custom module. This does not happen.

How can I get the custom content on my front page in the custom content module?

It's working exactly like it should. The custom page content module only shows the content from the specific page you're viewing. If you want to use it on your homepage, edit that page, change the page type, and then enter the info for your HTML file or template.
