I would like to add a sub-forum to appear at the top of the page just above the links directory similar to vbulletin in which i can put in normal text rules for submitting new links.
I haven't got a clue how to do it, any help would be much appreciated.

I'm sorry, but I'm not sure if I follow exactly what you're trying to do... Are you trying to add a set of rules that appears when adding links, a link to a set of rules, or what?

I'm sorry, but I still don't follow you... I don't see what sub-forums have to do with rules...

What I would like to do, is put some rules on the links directory page.
But I would like to do it like this:
add a sub-forum to the links forum, like you can in the forum manager in vbulletin so that it gives me a page to type in rather than another links directory forum.
Does that make sense???

I think what he is saying, he would like to be able to put an actual "forum" at the top of the links directory so he can post rules in threads and people can reply to them.
That would be a good idea for the way I'm using it... I could allow it only for the links moderators to discuss things about the links.
I think that should be easy (unless the directory is an issue) you could have an option in the admincp to show it or not (maybe even add a per-usergroup permission to be able to view it.) Then have an option to put the forumid of the forum you would like to use. :)

That's exactly it Shon! Thanks for a better description.
This would be a good idea for getting link moderators into the modcp without actually giving the person moderating powers in the other forums.
