Strange spacing around link buttons

Most of my module spacing and formating look fine, but I have two modules that are giving me fits. They are mostly blank, but contain a few link buttons. The problem is that the spacing around the link buttons is HUGE -and I want to tighten it without messing up the rest of my modules. You can see what I am refering to here:

The modules are the "English Links" and "Japanese Links" in the lower right. You can see the extra spacing around the buttons - particularly above and below.

I understand that adv_portal_module_shell provides the default formating. I just can't figure out why the formating of these two modules is so different from my others.

Point me in the right direction and I'm sure I will figure out the rest.

I'm assuming those were added as BB Code modules? If so, edit the modules and remove all carriage returns from the content.
