Random polls not happening?

I entered RAND for poll forum id.
There is only one poll in the forums.
It does not show up on cmps_index.

When I first did it, I had some fatal errors: mysql reporting RAND was not a valid field name. But for some reason that has disappeared now.

Is RAND supposed to display a poll always, or only when it randomly hits some valid number?

The only thing I can think of that would cause that would be that you don't have permissions set so that you can view the forum that poll is in. If those are correct though and you would like to submit a support ticket I'll be glad to take a look.
