I just created this modification to the nav menu hack I saw recently. This is the code I used to seamlessly add google adsense and the seach box to the navigation main menu. Hope it works for everyone interested.
Step 1
Sign up for Google adsense and search
http://www.google.com
Fill out the information for your site's adsense.
Get your adesense and search info from google site
Step 2
Create a new template in your prefered style
Call it adv_portal_navmenu2 or whatever you like
Post the code below in the attachment.
Save
Note: Change the web site information in the code to your website's domain address or any preferred url.
All words with the name Naijadiscussion must be changed to suit your site.
Feel free to modify as needed until you get what suits your site.
Step 3
Log into your adminCP
Click on vBa CMPS option on the left side.
Click on Edit Modules.
Click on Site Navigation (module).
Under Module Tools, find Select Action (very top) and choose Copy.
>>> Be sure to leave the original site nav module just in case things are not working right, you got something to fall back on.
Step 4
In your new (copy) of the Site Navigation Module,
Change the name of your module to whatever you want (I called mine “Nav Menu”).
Under the Template Module Options heading, edit the adv_portal_navmenu2 or whatever you named your template.
Use Module Shell Template, check 'YES'
Save
Step 5
Refresh browser to see what you have.
Make sure the links work the way you want them to work.
